As I stand
Stand alone
Under these stars
This night sky
This black night
Presses in,
Envelopes
Who I am.
Reflecting
What I am not
Under bright lights
Twitching,
Twinkling,
Dwindling lights.
As I stand
Stand alone
With no one,
Not one
Of so many,
To hold
Empty thoughts
Drowning out
All the noise.
Will I too
Begin to fade
Just like the world
All around me
So filled with dark
Black night?
I do not know
I do so care
I will not give in
In to the demons
Demons of midnight
Here they come now.
