Night stolen, eyes wide open – silhouetted by the everlasting shadow which
light cannot penetrate. The wintry wind that robs the warmth of the fire burning inside, it
lingers.
And we twitch and spiral through our daily lives, the clock ticking tick tick. Past the shining gates and
through the dusty stairways of our hearts lies the insatiable demon who preys on fear and
haunts our summers. He delights in
the fear in our dilated eyes, our blindness from the lack of light. But
what is he without our souls, where can he find refuge? Today is
the day of destruction, the day to burn bridges, the day to break our chains, the day to say no to
what haunts the night and lingers through the light.

This piece was inspired by all the time I've wasted worrying about the past. Memory will always be buried away in our hearts, but we need to take control of our now instead of letting the past dictate our lives. Live for today and today only - that is what I hope you can get out of my piece.
