Heart Beats No More

All she wants is your approval, to know it's good enough, to hear she's done well

but never do any of those words come from your mouth

the way you act and the words you don't say hurt more than you know

She feels lost, hurt, and alone, scared, scarred and defeated

beat, isolated, and naturally broken like a baby bird that fell from her nest

Betrayed, abandoned, practically turned on by those who said they cared

falling apart, crumbling from inside her heart

She feels numb, so cold, so dazed and confused, not sure if any one's there

she wants to feel again, to stop the hurt from it's destructive path

but it's too late the pain is so overwhelming her heart feels no more, all feelings gone

Her heart was smothered, crushed by it all, feeling no more her heart beats' stop
