Goodbye My Love

The still silence.
The shoots fired.
The blood spilled.
The lost love.
We stand together.
Hands take hands.
Bright candles burn.
A mother holds a child close.
Pain scars the air.
There is a bitter cold
Which chills beyond the bones.
Slowing our hearts
And weakening our minds.
We mirror the ring of stones
And the ghosts who rest upon them.
Grey and cold.
They stand restless
As tears collect but never rain down.
As notes and presents
Cover the ground.
Goodbyes fly in the air.
Goodbye my son.
Goodbye my daughter.
Goodbye my friend.
Goodbye my love.
Your pain is over.
A new journey awaits you.
We will see you one day soon.
Amen.

The author's comments:
I wrote this on Friday, December 14, 2012 and I dedicate this to all the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting. I ask that all who read this give a moment of silence afterwards in honor of the children and teachers who lost their lives.

Never start frowning because you never know who's falling in love with your smile.

It's beautiful, and I know that they're in a better place now

Isn't it ironic? We ignore the ones who adore us, adore the ones who ignore us, love the ones who hurt us, and hurt the ones that love us.

I also wrote a poem about this. I'm trying to get it online right now. If you could, please look for it. It's called December 14, 2012. Very good poem, but a horrible topic.
