I feel his strong grip tighten around my throat
I dont struggle. I don't complain.
His hands encircle the width of my neck, like a collar that chokes the very life out of me.
I never move. I never fight.
My pseudo-placidty is almost eerie.
The pain is over-whelming, but the pain of running away from the familiarity of his grip... It's unthinkable.
I swallow my screams. I swallow my discontentment. I swallow my self-imposed fate.
All the while, I convince myself that I'm happy.
