The Wall I Built
I built this wall so tall
Because I was afraid.
I'd felt pain before
And didn't like the sensation.
So I built this wall so tall,
That nobody could possibly get in.
But now that I'm lonely,
Confined behind this barrier
I wish that somebody would try
To scale this tall wall.
I would take it down myself-
But this wall that I built so tall,
Is impossibly strong for me.
So I sit behind this barrier,
And I wait and I hope.
That perhaps someone is curious enough
To try and scale this tall wall.
Because perhaps, with a little help
I could bring down the tall wall
With which I've been hiding.
