"Whatever you do is insignificant, but it's important that you do it, because no one else will." -Ghandi.

A name is like a fingerprint;
Everyone has one, but no two are exactly alike.
It expresses who we are.
We shape what it means.
We are given the foundations of it and
Transform it to become what we are.
It is a form of identity.
It expresses characteristics that are unseen.
It separates us from the rest of the world,
Even if there are those who share the same name.
There are no two people alike,
Even those with the same name.

The author's comments:
We had to write about where our name originated from in class, and it sparked interest for me to write a poem about it.

Very clear, but powerful! Nicely written!
