I am from my running shoes
From Nike and Reebok.
I am from the vivid
Sun dappled, peaceful rooms
And soft sounds, of a fountain

I am from the curving branches
Of our Maple Tree
The memories
Hidden
In it’s
Thick bark.

I am from Christmas Eve
By the fire
And from loving to win
From Cecile and Don
And the Scotts

I am from laughing
Too much
And loving the ocean
From “never,ever, give up,”
And “tough luck, you lose!”

I am from free thinking with
No rules
I am from Durango
My home
And a Scotland mystery

I am from golden brown
Pancakes
And a plateful of
Cheesy
Scrambled eggs






I am from silent tears
Cried alone
And late night
Wishing on a
Shooting star
From forgotten
Blushes
And a hopeful hug


I am from the Colorado flag
That flew above
The capital
And the train
That tried to
Run us
Over

I am from the
Photo’s of old friends
And the puffy
Baby cheeks
I used
To have
