Orphaned
Your daughter needs you.
She needs consistency.
She needs your love.
But, you have forgotten about her,
Haven’t you?
You found something new to obsess over.
You left her behind.
Yet, you still need her.
You need her for support.
For reassurance.
She is, now, just your crutch.
Only there to keep you from toppling over.
From collapsing underneath your blind, bitter view of the world.
From your severe lack of awareness.
She is your crutch.
She won’t be there forever.
She will grow up, grow old, grow away from you.
Who will you lean on when she is gone?
Who will be the pedestal for you to throw your weight upon?
Who will hold your head up high for you?
Or feed into your delusional, dysfunctional dream of a world?
She is growing away from you.
She wants to escape from the clutches of your perfect life.
The perfect life you are recreating and editing her out of.
She is slowly dissipating into the darkness of the corner of your thoughts.
But, your daughter needs you.
She needs her mother.
