Sometimes, in a life, one finds a shooting star
They’re there for just a short time,
Then only seen from afar
A bright light, a highlight.

It’s a bit like the tile game,
Where you begin together at the start
And shuffle away without aim
Only the very dedicated ever find their way back again.

They help you and change you
Are there, just there
Bend you, but never break you
They only come back to break your heart.

Hearts guard themselves against people like this
Knowing they’ll only be hurt in the end
Girls resist that perfect guy’s kiss,
And then they swirl away.

Storms bring them, daylight sees their exit--
What kind of existence is this?
It must be hard to be a shooting star.
But I still look for them anyway.
