We’re going to the beach
Yes, the beach
We’ll be back on the sparkling sand
Watching the tide
Leaving perfect footprints
Smudged footprints
Salt and sand everywhere
The water going
in, out
out, in
But that’s the bright side,
The sun reflecting off the deep, dark sea
We’re really going
To see family
To say farewell to a dying sister
A sickly mother,
A crazy daughter
That’s why we’re going to the beach.
