The Carnival
Here comes the carnival,
Smiles leading the oncoming parade,
Cheers coming from every way.
High, high smiles,
Goofy little stumbles,
Laughter leading on,
The faces from far, far, away.
Here comes the carnival,
Stares overcoming the smiles,
Gasps arising among the crowd,
Low, low voices,
Stooping big men,
Nervous laughter ringing,
Among the faces from far, far, away.
Now here’s the carnival,
Cheers to tears,
No one comes around,
Everyone is with fear.
The different little people,
They once cheered on,
Now creatures in the darkness,
Never loved,
And now alone,
Abandoned in the echos,
Of a time long gone.
