ALONE
F***
 I can’t escape
 No matter where I go
The gun bangs and rope hangs
And I’m in the middle of it
 Too scared to let go
 But too certain to stay
 S***

How did it even get to this?
 How did anyone let it?
 Now death follows me around
Like a stray dog begging to be let in
But too ugly to find a home
 Ears torn
 Legs bleeding
 Eyes gouged
It limps on three legs steadily following you
It doesn’t make its move until
 You
 Are
 ALONE
 Then it morphs
 It becomes a mastiff
 Saliva dripping down
Eyes red not with blood but with power
Chasing you faster than you can run
 Yet you try
 Until you can’t anymore
 You turn and
 FACE
 And suddenly
Death is just an old, forgotten dog
 Searching for a home
 It whimpers
It bleeds onto your wrists and speaks to your eyes
 Don’t be afraid
 Please don’t be afraid
 Never be afraid
 I would never hurt you…
