Silent Presence
Hidden by downy soft fur,
Pudgy stomach,
And an angelic face,
The body of a graceful killer,
With teeth pointy,
And claws sharp.
Carrying himself across the discarded clothes and books,
The light paw steps fall delicately
With his ears perked for the slightest of noises.
The tail swishes smoothly from left to right
Stopped by the occasional twitch.
After pacing the room, once, twice, three times,
He selects a spot, worthy enough to sleep on
And as quietly as he has entered the room,
Settles down for his hourly nap…
It would be cute,
If it weren’t on my face
