Holding Hands

I really want to tell you
Why
But I'm afraid that I might
Cry
Please don't let this moment
Die
But don't let me waste your precious
Time
And let me fall away before I
Lie

We walk on red roses
Now lifeless
We talk of memories
Now hopeless
We wonder what lies ahead
But we can't see

So tell Me
What brings me to my knees
Help
Me stop the bleeding
It's too much
To take but
I can't Let go

Darkness is thick
An inky substance I can touch
Strung in curtains around me as I reach for you
But please, darling
Tell me what I'm reaching for
Because I no longer know why you're even there

I really want to tell you
Why
But I'm afraid that I might
Cry
Please just let this moment
Die
I won't let you waste my precious
Time
I'll let you fall away before you
Lie

Is it about an old friendship that died and you miss or maybe want something more from? I really love it. You're not rusty at all!

This is a very, very intriquing poem that I enjoyed very much! I really enjoy this style of writing and can't wait to see more poetry from you! :)

"Darkness is a thick, inky substance I can touch, strung in curtains around me as I reach for you.."   Favorite line! I want to write it on a page a million times!   I just... Love it! SO much depth, character, structure, inspired!
