on the contrary,
the first cut is not the deepest
or the most painful
but it stings the most
and is the sweetest
you will, one day, have the weight of every soul you have ever touched on your heavy heart
spluttering it open with an ungraceful thump,
drunken in sadness
bleeding from wounds that healed long ago
and those that never healed at all
