"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass it's about learning to dance in the rain"

As the end approaches,
I find myself near tears,
full of love and sorrow,
for a romance that never appeared.

We have only a few hours left,
till the summer comes.
You go off to Paris Island,
and I go back to school.

I took a chance with prom,
yet money got in the way.
we could have been together,
a friendship that never ends.

I'm sorry we never had a chance,
but maybe in the future.
Be sure to return as soon as can
and I'd be happy to wait here.

This poem was written my junior year of high school as the guy I liked, just a year older, left to join the US Marines. Please pray for his safety.
