"But what is any ocean but a multitude of drops?"- Cloud Atlas

The minutes of my life fly by
And I'm counting telephone poles
As I pass them
On my way
To nowhere
The birds sit and stare
And they count the cars
On their way
To nowhere
The poles go by
One by one
Connected by wires
That connect the world
Spinning through space
And it counts the stars
As it passes them
On its way
To nowhere
And I measure the minutes of my life
By the telephone poles
As I pass them
On my way
To nowhere
And maybe those wires
That connect world
Can connect me
To somewhere

Really, really true poem. I love it when I find poetry that can say something without being ridiculously dense and has a true feel to it. Congrats to the author. That's some good poetry right there:)
