I write this to the day he died

I looked up to him and saw he cried

a crown of thorns upon his head

my heart inside had felt so dead

the spotless one who never sinned

but paid the price as if he did

He is my savior, my neighbor, my friend

his love for me will never end

I pray to God to let him live

yet we sin, he did forgive

my heart had felt so close to his

he loved me so, true this is

High in the heavens is a God above

whom gave us his everlasting love

large as the world is his heart

I cry to him when I feel apart

I heard his voice through my soul

telling me he was my leading role

He always did the holy deed

I could feel him start and take the lead

in the air, his blood I taste

wherever I ran he always chased

the world is but a spinning ball

compared to it we seem so small

I smelled the crisp air of sweat and blood

and the dirty pigs playing in the wet brown mud

to send his son to die on the cross

my love for you will never be lost

although my Faith is strong and I am loving

apart from him, I can do nothing
