Teddy on a shelf

All I do is sit sit sit
Sit on this shelf
When I could be walking around
With the most beautiful teddy I've seen
I just wish I could be there with her but
I’m just a teddy on a shelf

I have a chance to be with her
Just a chance to show my true love for her
Only when the store closes and they move the shelves
Is my chance to move but
I am just a teddy on a shelf

Only if she noticed me
I just wish she could see me
I’m like a shadow to a shadow to her
She is the universe and I am the stars
Without her I would be a teddy on the clearances rack but
I am just a Teddy on a shelf

They moved me beside her
With joy I am free to love her
We are in the front of the store holding hands
Together at last with a tear in her eye

A smile on our faces
Free to love her but still
I am just a teddy on a shelf

This reminds me of a book I once read. The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. All about a toy rabbit who takes the love for his owner for granted, loses everything, and travels to find her again. Very good book. Very good poem. I like your work

It seemed to have double meanings which I love in any type of writing. Very free to interpretation so it's easy to relate to, beautiful!
