Maskless
I was wrapped up in webs spun by the spiders of my own imagination
That covered my eyes and led me through your maze
Like in the horror movies you couldn’t bear to watch.
We were nothing but ourselves, maskless
Yet always teetering on the edge of danger
Like the rain you made me run through.
You suppressed regret with sighs
And the past with lies
Like the drama you would do anything to avoid.
Tears welled in my eyes as I stared into yours
And you asked if you could wipe them away
Like the friend you meant to be.
