And ah, my dear, as we walked together----
As the sun in your hair seemed to warm the weather----
My thoughts and being were focused upon thee.
As we spoke, and as we talked----
How I dreaded the end of our walk----
Yet I knew it was near----
But I longed to be with thee, my dear----
Your gorgeous white skirt----
Against the snow of your skin----
Oh, what a dream----
What a dream I lived in!
The tall elegance of your figure----
And the bright sun of your hair----
O God how I dreaded the end of our walk----
A trial I had to bear.
