Autophobia
I want to reach into the pool of your mind and drink from your emotions
quench my thirst in all your unspoken words
“Are you happy?” Or trying to hide the truth behind each of the “I'm Fine's”
I want to steal your dreams
and hide them in the pillowcase beside my own
I want to know if you look up to the sun
and think promises only exist in the skies
I want to touch the scar that made you
Feel the bruises that stain you
and look into the secrets that contain you
I want to spend nights tasting childhood on your tongue
as we speak into tainted memories of our pasts
I want to hear the whispers of your first lie
and leave my footprints in the thorns surrounding it
I want to grip onto the chandelier of your soul
and reassemble the broken glass
I want to hold you
mold you, into lines of poetry
find you in every metaphor
I want to define you as a word
Impossible.
