2 metal beetles collided

(geographically close,
but in another world).
the aftermath was
tossed
around at least a few hundred feet, and
the bumpers were
mangled bottom lips, sagging
dripping
into the asphalt, in the middle of
plastic and glass
confetti.
wouldn't a mistake so condemning
so sharp an
impact
leave some permanent scar, at least
a vibration resonating in
the stone-cold air, instead of
a pair of metal
beetle carcasses
to be swept away tomorrow?
