The Dark Night
Sound asleep like the rest awaiting for my mothers birthday the coming morning.
Awoken to a sudden loud noise in the middle of the night.
Run to the door lock it and secure my sister and I.
Bomb like noises begin to go off.
Breaking through the doors they order us to stay down.
Shaking I assure my sister we will be all right.
Forced to go down to the living room.
I find my family already sitting there widely awaken.
I hug and rock my mother back and forth as she asks me, "why baby why is this happening?"
Looking at the floor not wanting to make eye contact with the enemy I don't respond just hug her as i try to hold back my shakiness.
Stay strong she needs you is all i am thinking
