Yes, It's True
Sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror I see it
Who I was
Or who I have always been and always will be
Deep down
And I see it in others too
My sisters
Strangers on the street
When I told her my secret
A look of comprehension crossed her face
Mixed with compassion
She knew because her daughters
Had been like I once was
And when she told my father
His eyes filled with tears
And he said this:
"It's because of me."
