Yes, It's True

Sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror I see it
Who I was
Or who I have always been and always will be
Deep down
And I see it in others too
My sisters
Strangers on the street
When I told her my secret
A look of comprehension crossed her face
Mixed with compassion
She knew because her daughters
Had been like I once was
And when she told my father
His eyes filled with tears
And he said this:
"It's because of me."

to all of us that have ever gotten to that point, the brink of sanity, that desperate need to feel something, anything besides the blackness that surrounds us. my vice was cutting, as was my sisters'. we all have crutches, ways to cover our pain because we can't cope with it, this is about mine.
