anxiety
feels like I’m drowning
 air is hard and heavy
and the whole world is spinning
 so so fast and taunting,
"come on, keep up! keep up!
 run faster!"
and i never get a second to sit and breathe,
 which wouldn’t matter
because now my legs are sore
 and my body is sore
 and my eyes are coon-colored
 I am trying
 but the mirror is laughing
 and the kids are laughing
and the whole world is laughing
 or there’s silence
everyone and everything is a mirror
 and i don’t like what i’m seeing
and i want to change it so badly,
but the sea just pulls me back out again
as soon as i stand up
