To define loneliness
with your being
is not something
I’d wish upon anyone.

To have such a breathtaking
view of the earth below
to be so close
yet just too far;

Even in summer’s warm hand
I find no delight
in which the cold desolation
is soon to follow,

taking everything in its wake
experiencing loss
as each piece falls away
one by one.

Even in all my isolation
in the still quiet
just the slightest sound
brings hope of another...

Life.

The author's comments:
Surprisingly, my inspiration came from just a clip of a movie i saw walking into the doctors office. All i saw was the view of insanely tall forest trees up north and i wondered what its like to be so high up and so this piece is in the point of view of the tallest branch.
