I’ve lost my mind
Or the contents therein,
My memory has fled
And time is shedding like skin.
I got ahead of myself
So I left myself behind,
For no coordinates can locate
The wandering mind.
I drew a blank
And then ran out of ink,
Like being filled with emptiness
Or re-learning how to think.
Wishes unresigned
And dreams undeferred,
The meaning understated
And the thoughts overheard.
I forgot to forget
To get out of my head,
So I followed the misdirections
And found myself instead.

I tried to remember

What it was like to forget,

But I’ve been forgetting

For as long as I can remember.

I find Amnesia fascinating and I had just watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and read "A Dream Deferred{
