The thought of speaking was suicide,
I have no strength to even think,
Words pasted through me like I was intangible,
Sweat caught my eye when it past,
Then the words began to hurt,
Nothing but insults and discrimination,

Destroying all that I am and everything that I stand for,

They degraded me to nothing,
My faith withered to nothing,

Trust escaped me,
Words escaped me,

I was alone in this fight,
An army versus one man,

The Cost of Silence.

I expressed a lot of my faith and beliefs into my poem.
