Dense and foreboding.
A darkness unliftable.
Scurrying in the gloaming
Like rats that scatter beneath search lights.
Black plastic boulders belch sulfurous
Stench in the night-born shadows
Under cliffs of imposing black
Hanging over black rivers full
Of soot-spewing sharks
Growling along the ground, eating
Little kittens, hacking up
Bones from the boulders
Of the cliffs
Of Urbania.
