Is thunderous as each foot fall lands in a pile of dead leaves.
But it will be worth it this Halloween.

Ghosts, ghouls, witches, and skeletons
Even a marshmallow every now and then.

Bone white and sore from clinching my blade
My fingers loosen up
As I choose my prey—

My plastic knife
Cuts through the air,
And stops inches before
Hitting its mark…
