Soccer
I’ve never felt more comfortable
then with a ball between my feet,
the soft wind through my hair
and the mud on my cleats.
There’s something about that bright, green field
and the off white goal,
the people beside me
or the stands completely full.
We’re the first ones to go
and we can’t get beat
as the adrenaline flows
from your head to your feet.
There is no better place
but to be in that game
when the announcer comes on
and shouts out your name.
I can assure you that there
is no place I’D rather be
then on that soccer field
with my family and me.
