dream as if youll live forever live as if youll die tommorow - james dean

Small curly haired
Brown eyed girl
Naive to the world
There’s No stopping her

Countless medical visits
Cold floors
The bright yellow rooms lined
With animal alphabet trim
Metal scales and sinks

Scared of the dark canvas ahead of her
She lies on the cold table
With a weight
Lying on top of her
She stays still
A big

A seven pound tumor
Excruciating thoughts

Apologies to the family
Worried mommy and daddy
Tears fill their eyes

Her sister
Understands yet is helpless
Countless dreams
Slipping away

Scars overpower her smiles
The child "stronger" than she seems

As she grows
So does her anger

She wonders "why me?"

She's no longer that fighter
Weakness overpowers her strength

We wonder what happened to her

Who is she?

She lets life's losses overcome happiness

Isn't it ironic? We ignore the ones who adore us, adore the ones who ignore us, love the ones who hurt us, and hurt the ones that love us.

If you had to go through this I'm truly sorry, because it's not fair in life towards the kids that go through this.
