All I want to do is eat and eat.
I am just a wee caterpillar of eight weeks.
All I do in my life is inch around.
Jeez I can’t wait any longer
For my baby feet to be able to leave the ground.
All day I see birds flying up above.
My favorite things to watch are the pretty white doves.
My mommy and daddy tell me soon I will change,
But am I ready. For this big exchange
From slinking around to flying free?
Oh yes, oh yes I am, please let me be!
That’s all I want in my life.
I really just want to fly and fly
To never stop flying and to make it to the moon
Because I will be a beautiful butterfly, so very soon.
If I look like my mom and dad
Just like my brothers and sisters did,
I will be white with red stripes, so rad!
Oh, I feel the changing coming--my cocoon.
Ahh…they were right I will be beautiful
