I Am Sick

I am sick
I am not who I used to be.
I am ill
Why can't you see?
I am slipping
I try so hard to show you.
I am falling
You don't want to see it, do you?
I am decaying
My heart is crumbling to pieces.
I am fading
All my loving ceases.
I am fading
I am fading
I am wasting
Away.

The author's comments:
I lost a very good friend about a year ago and I started to fall into a depression. I felt like even though I tried so hard to show the people around me that I wasn't okay, they never saw it. This is what depression feels like. It's a weight in your heart and mind that you can't escape.
