The Cave of Bravery
A cave you find
Underneath the brush
Your teeth, they grind
With tears that gush
Wipe them away,
My child, and enter that cave
It’s only midday
After the show that you gave
Take your fingers and feel
The inside, black and rough
Your skin shall peel
With rocks that will scuff
Just peek up and see
The shadows that creep
The hum of a bee
And the chills that will seep
Wander over and don’t stop
Your head far from clear
With your joints that pop
You’re close; the exit is near
See? The exit is over there
Go on and simply step out
A feeling you can bare
Sun shining; no doubt
With bravery to prove
You’ve succeeded at last
Now, you must move
Out of the cave, long in the past
