On her knees
She pleads and pleads
Holding her child close
The little boy is quiet
Scared and confused
She begs the man
He suggests
She agrees
And as she runs away
The toddler is left behind
The boy cries out
He wants her back
But the man lets her go
As he puts the gun
To the boy's head
A shot rings out
The boy falls silent
His body slumps to the floor
The fleeing mother
Doesn't even glance back
