Invent the non-existent
Realize the reality of the unreal
Imagine the unimaginable
Read an unwritten story
I create

Accept the possibility of the impossible
Expect the unexpected
Explore the unexplored
Theorize the unexplained
I discover

Hear with my eyes
Read with my fingers
Speak with a different tongue
Write in ink
I communicate

Laugh without the smile
Cry without the tears
Cherish what was lost
Receive, and give
I empathize

Unravel a mystery
Break through all boundaries
Open your eyes
Maybe open mine
I teach

Quarrel without cause
Stand up for a belief
Clutch the folded flag
Burn the shroud
I rage and I mourn

Scientist
Writer
Lover
Teacher
Mother
Father
Warrior

Born
Live
Die

I am humanity.
What are you?

The author's comments:
The poem goes through all these different traits of humanity. All the things that we can achieve, and tries to relate it to the reader. Is the reader really one of these, a scientist or a mother or a warrior?
