Nothing is Ever Really Alright

Nothing is ever really alright, only sugarcoated,
Spring brings hopeless yearning, summer ends too soon.
Autumn is merely preparation for death, and winter brings doom.
Nothing is ever really alright, only sugarcoated.

No one ever shows their face, only their masks,
They smile at horrible things, laugh at what isn’t funny.
They say they do it all for love, but really it’s for money.
No one ever shows their face, only their masks.

Nothing ever really goes right, only barely acceptable,
The economy is failing, the government does nothing.
Science is never perfect, and the schools are all suffering.
Nothing ever really goes right, only barely acceptable.

Nothing is ever really alright, only sugarcoated,
Spring brings hopeless yearning, summer ends too soon.
Autumn is merely preparation for death, and winter brings doom.
Nothing is ever really alright, only sugarcoated.
