Our Favorite Part

The crown of my head lays gingerly
against your strong chest.
We soar above the skyline.
Wistfully laying among the stars.
It was my favorite part.
You and I.
You said it was your favorite part.
Us together.
The way our hearts sailed through a treacherous sea.
The waves ebbing and flowing back,
into the warmth of each others arms,
into the burn of a tender kiss,
into the rhythmic pattern of our heartbeats colliding together.
How I long for that moment again...
Perfection.
