Artillery pummels the beach... Planes buzz overhead.
Lives are taken, minds are shaken.
Bullets snap past our heads.
Snickering through the air, like the laughter of demons.
The milky skies echo with war, as soldiers die on the shore.
German guns bark and rattle, as we trudge through the blood and carnage.
Through the upheaval, where the smoke shrouds the enemy, we blast munitions into the fray.
The end is within reach, though our blood paints the beach.
Victory can't be achieved without sacrifice.
Every warrior possesses this knowledge.
We've breached the walls of Fortress Europe, but it came at a great cost... We will never forget the lives of the lost.
