_her_
I remember that girl
Her smile, as big as the Milky Way
She was friends with everyone
And everyone knew her name
But I saw that same girl
Crouched in the bathroom stall
Blood dripping from her wrists
Knife searing through her perfectly tanned skin
I stepped too loud
She caught my gaze
Like a deer caught in headlights
I turned and fled
She was wearing her favorite dress
Two days later
Hanging, in her room
Her arms hung limp
Chair below her feet
Her parents found her
Deep cuts in her throat
The cord tight around her neck
The world was to mourn
I was too late
For that beautiful girl
With a secret that died with her
