Hoping, Not Wishing
Desperation isn't a state planned,
it's fallen into.
That's why I'm not wishing,
I'm not pleading,
I'm hoping.
Maybe something so incredibly amazing,
so beautiful,
could happen if I just relax.
Don't focus on it,
Yes, it's on my mind,
but it isn't consuming it.
Hope flickers within me,
waiting to finally be fulfilled.
