Ding, ding
The doorbell is ringing
The family and friends are over as the smell of thanksgiving hits them as they enter the door
The sound of stomachs rumbling was like a drum that would not stop
A glaze of happiness came over their eyes as the food that was waited for was brought to the table
the sight of turkey, stuffing, sweet potato pie and other foods was a food lovers heaven
tasting the sweet potato pie was like music in my mouth
the best I have ever tasted from my mothers creative hands
as I was enjoying the sweet taste of pineapples and marshmallows in my mouth
the colors of the table set was a festival spirit
the red, green and orange was an invisible image in your mind of a beautiful fall tree with the bright leaves falling to the dry ground
watching the Thanksgiving parade in New York on television
picturing what it would be like if I was there
the sun was up, then a dark cloud came over the sky, then it was night
looking outside as you watch the guest drive away
a beautiful, cherished memory for all
there is no better day in fall, than Thanksgiving
