Freedom

Lips moving,

Nothing coming out
A silenced scream

Cut short
A shining steel blade

Glinting red
Tears streaming

Down a dirty face
Eyes stare lifelessly

At the starry sky
Night overtakes the light

Blacking out comfort
Huddled with a lost companion

Crying out for help
But to no avail

Nobody hears
Begging for mercy

Yet nobody comes
Death shadows your every step

Knocking on your door
But you embrace it

Welcoming the darness
And when the cold envelopes you

Everything falls into place....

Well thank you very much. It means quite a bit to hear that from someone besides friends.

You made it so real it's almost as if you can feel everything that is happening. It makes you feel helpless and alone. I love it it's dark and mysterious. The best poem I have ever read.
