Not alone

I run to the stairs
Tripping over the foot of the chair
It’s too dark to see anything
For the power has gone out
The flashes of the lightning shine through the small window
I’m home alone with nobody there to hold me
To calm me
My legs go weak for I feel the presence of something
Watching me
All alone
The doors are closed there is nowhere to go
I try to scream
Instead I hear dead silence
For I am to scared to even move
Let alone speak
Footsteps here
And footsteps there
I’m trapped here all alone
I lie there like a stone statue
Unable to move my stiff limbs
Behind me stands the body of a doll
In front of me is the head of a doll
Staring at me eye to eye
Its eye is bleeding and snowy white
Its mouth is a gape
The doll’s body is pulling me
I can only thing of one thing
I’m going to die
I’m in a dark room alone
The dolls knife is ready to strike
It starts to pierce my heart
When I remember
It’s time to go to bed
And I put my book away
