Two Days Gone
Two days gone since I saw you happy and alive. It still hasn't sunk in yet that you're gone.
Two days gone since you took your last breath. You must have been ready to go.
Two days gone since I saw you dying on that bed; eyes closed. I wanted you to wake up, to site up and hug me one last time.
Two days gone since I saw her clutching your empty body, crying onto your scruffy cheeks, still whispering sweet nothing to you.
It has been two days since you've gone; since you decided it was time to leave us. Two days is not enough time to completely understand what happend.
Maybe two more days will do the trick. But maybe not.
Two days gone.
Two days gone, and now you are too.
