Infatuated Insanity
I’m going insane,
But that’s okay,
Because I prefer insanity to normality –
The thrill of adrenaline through my veins
As the words I could never say
Pour through my eyes
In each adoring glance.
She pushed me to this –
I want this
I don’t want this
My thoughts are tearing my mind to shreds
As the sight of her punches my heart into my gut
And all I can do is stare
At her beautiful resilience.
I’m going insane,
But that’s okay,
Because I prefer insanity to normality,
Because in my insanity,
She is standing there right beside me
Making each moment just a little bit brighter.
So please, please
Let me stay insane
No, no, I don’t want the medication
No, no, don’t return me to that terrible reality
Where she is so out of reach
A star in a far-flung galaxy,
No, no, please don’t –
Let me cling to this beautiful insanity
For just a moment,
Please just give me
Just one more moment
In this insanity.
