Love is Eventual
Something about perfection, it ceases to last. Like the fireworks we once smiled
under, our love was a flash. Blinded by the light, I lost my sight, and in that
glimpse, my soul took flight. I thought of no risks, your sleeves held no
tricks. I needed nothing more, so I closed the door; the door to my heart, but
we weren't meant apart. Everything I see, says you're still somehow here, and I
hold tight to the memories, like I once held you near. I'll never forget my
favorite sound; the steady rhythm of your gentle heart pound. But the same
simple song that once beat for me, must now sail away, off to newer seas. Every
good thing, like fire eventually burns.. but in the midst of the cold, our fire
may return.
